Walking - All Kinds of Healty

   You may not know this, but a simple walk has tons of benefits for the human body. It is a great exercise for weight loss, excellent  prevention for several common diseases, and over all improves your body condition. Find out what 30 minutes or more of brisk walking can do for you.

  First of all, the issue that concerns almost everyone these days - weight loss. 30 minutes walking with a brisk pace can burn around 200-250 calories, depending on your weigh. Generally, a brisk pace is walking with the speed of 4.0 mph or 6.5 km/h, and with a body weight of 155 lb or 70 kg you can burn this much. The faster and longer you walk, the burned calories count increases. Also, people who are heavier burn more calories per minute, with a big accent on the fat tissue.

  If you want to incorporate walking into your weigh loss plan, try to plan longer walks, like 1,5 - 2 hours per day, 3-4 times a week. Also, a good practice is to get a pedometer or a pedometer app for your smart phone. This little devices calculate the steps you are making, the speed you are walking with, the distance and some count the calories burn as well. A general idea of a healthy walk should have more than 10.000 steps per day. 

  When it comes to preventing diseases  walking is an excellent way of prevention again heart attacks, strokes, lower blood pressure and diabetes type 2. Also, some researches show that walking in the winter keeps you safe from catching a cold, as it a great immune booster. 

  Walking can help you deal with stress and keep you young. Regular walkers have very low rate of aging, and after only 90 days of a regular walking program -  you can see the visible results  of reduced aging. Stress can also be reduced, especially with longer walks in nature or parks. 

  Some of the most beneficial effects of walking is improvement of the sleep cycle. This type of physical activity has a stimulative effect on the brain. It helps the brain to be nourished properly and to function in a optimal way, which contributes greatly to a regular and good sleeping cycle. Also, the proper production of neurons and synapses in the brain, which is done in the optimal function of it, gives you mental sharpness and better memory throughout the day.

  In order to enjoy all these benefits, you shouldn't wait very long, just get out and start walking. You should consider few small things though, so that you wont hurt yourself: walk with your head up, straighten your back and stiffen your abs a little, let your arm run freely, but lift them up and down occasionally to control the blood flow, choose good shoes for this activity and hydrate if you are walking in a hot environment. The good things in life are simple, make use of them :)
