Many of the
activities that we do around the home, burn a lot of calories, and their impact
should not be overlooked. In fact, some activities may burn out as many
calories as some exercise or workouts. Take a look at how and how much you can
burn while taking care of your home.
Activities in the yard
The things you do in
the yard are the most intense "household" activities. Therefore, they
burn most calories, but some of them also help in toning the muscles.
• Digging: for 30
minutes you burn 315 calories, which is equal to 45 minutes of cycling on flat
terrain. Digging tones the muscles in the calves, thighs, arms and shoulders.
If you are doing a very strong effort, and lasts up to 1 hour, it can
accelerate the heart rate and strengthens the cardiovascular system.
• Washing the car:
for 30 minutes you burn 143 calories. This activity works on arms and abs.
• Weeding: for 30
minutes it burns 115 calories, which is equal to 15 minutes of lifting weights.
It affects the thighs and buttocks, but you should pay attention to your back,
because it is strained in the same position for a longer time.
• Collecting fallen
leaves: for 30 minutes it burns 225 calories. It works all the muscle groups.
Activities inside the
home
Most activities
within the home, also burn a significant number of calories.
• Cleaning the bath:
for 30 minutes you can burn 200 calories. Here, we are talking about strongly
scraping the plaque of the tub, which works the muscles of the arms and
shoulders.
• Caring 3-4 bags
filled with groceries: for 30 minutes it burns 190 calories or more if the bags
are heavier and more numerous. Make sure to balance the weight evenly on both
hands, and try "swinging" with bags back and forth to adjust the
tension of the muscles.
• Setting the bed:
for 30 minutes it burns 130 calories, which is equivalent to 15 minutes of
jogging on flat surface.
• Washing the windows:
for 30 minutes it burns 125 calories, which is equivalent to 20 minutes of
yoga.
• Washing dishes: for 30 minutes it burns 160 calories.
• Vacuuming: for 30
minutes it burns 90 calories, which is equivalent to 15 minutes of active kick
boxing.
• Dusting: for 30 minutes
it burns 50 calories.
• Ironing: for 30
minutes it burns about 70 calories and tones the muscles of the upper body.
Besides these household
activities, a great number of calories can be burned by doing some other things
that we often do at home.
• Climbing stairs:
for 30 minutes it burns 285 calories;
• Painting the walls:
for 30 minutes it burns 160 calories;
• Showering: for 30
minutes it burns 70 calories;
I hope you remember
that the good things in life are simple. Keep calm and clean up!
